I have a library card from Windsor Public Library, my home public library, across the border from Detroit. I am presently traveling to eastern and northern Ontario, well beyond commuting distance from my home! I need to use the libraries in person in my Ontario destinations. Does Ontario proffer something like BC’s One Card program, a provincial “library card to access and borrow material from any participating public library in the province?”

Hamilton allows borrowing by regional systems (southwestern Ontario, west of Toronto but not going as far as Windsor/Sarnia/etc.); non-resident cards are $100/year. (I don't know if the borrowing privileges are reciprocal, i.e. whether HPL cardholders can borrow from Waterloo/Burlington/etc. etc. — seems likely, but you'd have to look it up on each library's system ... ??)
